Revolutionizing Teacher Education in Amolatar District: GLP and UCU Join Forces to Empower Local Teachers

The Bishop of Uganda Christian University speaking to students at Global Leaders Primary School

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you today! Global Leaders, in partnership with Uganda Christian University, is taking on a new venture to accredit our model primary school as teacher training college during holidays! This program will provide a unique opportunity for local teachers to enhance their skills and further their education. As a secular, non-faith based organization, we welcome teachers from all faith backgrounds to participate in this life-changing program.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Bishop and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University for a tour of our facilities. They were impressed by the beautiful setup we have at Global Leaders and the child development playground we have created. They praised us for providing quality education, and the Bishop shared his vision of improving the quality of education in Amolatar, which is very similar to ours.

Our partnership is essential to address the increasing demand for quality teacher education in the district. Uganda's government has enacted a policy that requires primary school teachers to hold a degree in order to continue teaching. Unfortunately, many local teachers struggle to enroll in distant places to study. By opening this center, we will provide an opportunity for our teachers in the district and neighboring areas to further their education and enhance their skills.

Our location is strategic, as we are in the center of Uganda, making it accessible to people from the East, North, and even Central Uganda. We have enough pool of human resources within the district to meet the minimum requirements set by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). By bringing services closer to the people, we will reduce the cost of university education and improve the performance of service delivery in the district, especially in the field of education through human capital development.

The program will primarily target primary and secondary school teachers who have grade three certificates and diploma holders who intend to upgrade to a diploma and degree, respectively. This commitment and concern by Uganda Christian University is a great milestone in shaping the education direction of the region.

At Global Leaders, we are grateful for this opportunity and excited to see the impact it will have on our community. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for children and young people in Amolatar district. By providing quality teacher education, we are transforming lives and building a better future.

We invite you to join us on this journey of creating lasting change in our community. If you would like to support our efforts, please consider donating to our cause and becoming a monthly advocate. Together, we can revolutionize teacher education in Amolatar district and empower our local teachers to provide the best education possible.
